Earlier this month our crew took samples for water quality analysis at Winged Deer Park, Point 17 and Boone Dam Beach. The Winged Deer Park sample tested well within recreational criteria however, the Point 17 and Boone Dam Beach samples were high enough to cause concern. BLA took follow-on samples and confirmed previous results at which time we notified the regulating authority who is now responding. We are continuing to sample the questionable sites.

Your BLA crew is the only organization that monitors Boone Lake water quality on a continuing basis and this year, our Water Quality Program expended efforts from the main usage season to year- round. Since spring, our samples throughout Boone Lake have been well within recreational criteria with the only exception noted above. We will continue to monitor the water quality of Boone Lake and notify appropriate agencies of any deviation from established criteria.
